First off, what meaningful consultation with indigenous people's of the area have been made? What consequences oe impact of this move have they shared ? Have you received their input and consent?
Secondly...
This is such a slippery slope. Giving away and/or selling of public land under the guise of protecting the economy is irresponsible, disrespectful and incredibly short sighted.
Removing the structures and supports protecting public lands to enable those actions is the slippery slope that welcomes these actions. This constant march towards ignoring environmental protections laws with amendments and bills that offer "permission" is truly egregious abuse of power.
Protected lands are PROTECTED for a reason. Stop putting money before the health and welfare of the environment and as a result, the health and welfare of the people you serve.
Stop disrespecting the indigneous peoples of the area. I encourage you to seek them out and build together. We can enjoy the lands and protect her at the same time. Stop the greed and ignorance.
