We are long time residents of Wasaga and chose to be within walking distance of Beach 1 because we knew access to the beach and the rest of the park would be protected in perpetuity. While we can support efforts to update the area and spur additional tourism, we cannot support the conversion of natural areas into rows of condominiums -- in particular in Beach Areas 1 and 2. These were once private property and were bought or expropriated to create the park and guarantee public access. If the transfer takes place, please ensure that there are iron clad guarantees that current natural beach, park lands, boat launches and parking lots remain accessible to residents and visitors. Endless rows of condos within the current park boundaries would destroy the park and hinder public access.
