Hello. Ontario Provincial…

Comment

Hello. Ontario Provincial Parks are SACRED in this Province. No part of them is for sale - EVER. What's being proposed at Wasaga Beach is unconscionable. What's next? Bronte Creek Provinicial Park? I live in Oakville, and it's already surrounded by development now. Please do not do this. The Ontario Provinicial Parks - particularly those in southern Ontario - like Wasaga and Bronte - need to be left alone. We cannot lose more land in these areas to development. For one thing, infrastructure doesn't support it. For another, endangered species like the Piping Plover rely on critical habitat like at Wasaga.

In Bronte Creek PP, I've noticed a drastic decline in raccoons, chipmunks, deer, opposums, pileated woodpeckers, and other bird species. This doesn't have to happen. Please stop it from happening.

Ontario Parks are not ours to privatize. They are there for the taxpayers; funded using taxpayers' money. Ontaro's parks are for the public. They exist to protect endangered species, sensitive ecosystems, and the natural spaces that connect our communities and shield us from climate disaster – not to benefit wealthy, well-connected developers.

I and other Ontarians are urging you to:

- Withdraw the proposal to sell off Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.
- Withdraw the proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act.
- Reinstate the ESA, and strengthen protections for the Piping Plover and other at-risk species.
- Keep Ontario parks in public hands forever.
