Hello
Wasaga Beach sell off
The recent sell-off of Wasaga Beach involves several key developments:
The Ontario government is proposing to remove 645 acres of the park's beaches and an island, which represents almost one-third of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This proposal aims to make it easier and faster for the government to remove lands or entire parks across the province.
Seriously, you want to reduce the public beach by 1/3. Give your head a shake. We the working people need areas to rest and relax in this province. Take our kids for a daily trip outing. We have enough stress now we have fight for a place at the beach. Un freaking believable.
The town is busy enough as it is.
The town of Wasaga Beach has finalized the sale of beachfront land to the Sunray Group for $580,000, marking the first phase of a major hotel development. This project is expected to boost tourism, create jobs, and support local businesses.
Good try. Ontarians will find somewhere else to go as you erode natural areas for the sake of a buck. So really are you gaining anything with this development. It is time to stop the madness surrounding our green space or in this case beach space. Stop developing everything.
The town has also finalized a deal with Sun Ray Hotels to sell that company a piece of waterfront land to build a hotel, which is part of the ongoing efforts to revitalize the Wasaga Beach waterfront. 1
These developments reflect the town's commitment to transforming the area into a world-class, year-round destination while addressing the challenges of managing the park's land and resources.
I cannot believe you are allowing the sell off of Wasaga Beach. It really is time for you to stop the madness around housing and be realistic about destroying our green belt and cherished Wasaga Beach.
Last comment... I think this just an incredible mistake on your behalf. I cannot tell you how upsetting it is that this has even been considered.
