The climate crisis has never been more evident than in 2025 with countries around the world feeling the painful effects of the constant pillaging and destruction of natural resources and habitats. While this proposal claims the greater good is "economic growth" it fails to recognize what will be lost.

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park features a diverse and dynamic habitat, encompassing a freshwater beach, dunes, and wetlands, all supporting a variety of plant and animal life. The beach itself is a constantly shifting environment, shaped by wind, waves, and currents. This dynamic nature creates different habitats, including foredunes, parabolic dunes, and floodplains, each supporting unique species.

Those of us in Toronto are presently witness to the effects of animal displacement due to the Ford government's push for development in natural areas which should have been preserved . We fear regarding the effects to our lake and the long term repercussions from the demonstrated lack of care about the environment or understanding of how we are tied to it.

The Premier.has repeatedly claimed that Canada is "not for sale" ; we respectfully request the Ford government to abide by this statement and halt the selling off of large portions of Ontario that serve only to benefit the few and not the many. Once lost, our habitat and natural resources cannot be restored. We don't need more spas or casinos or resorts. We need a strong commitment to slow down the impending climate collapse, and more respect for our natural spaces and resources.
