Thank you for taking the time to read my comment. Part of what makes Wasaga beach so successful is the proximity to nature and the beauty of the ecosystem in and around the beach. Tourism to Wasaga can genuinely be enhanced through the ecological preservation of nesting sites and the continued education of the public (think about Florida where all the lights on the beach at night are red to allow newborn turtles to find the water). There are even volunteers who monitor nests and guide fledgling turtles with a flashlight to the water. If the public is educated and can Witness these nesting grounds from a safe distance that actually enhances the tourist experience and makes these lands more appealing. These species have to be properly protected to ensure we have these beaches for generations to come. I would urge council to protect the nesting sites at a bare minimum and continue supporting the Plover recovery. We have the opportunity to be on the right side of history here. Thank you
