Provincial parks are meant to be protected and that protection is meant to last. To remove even part of that protection sets a dangerous precedent.
It opens that area up for development which would be damaging to the dunes as well as the habitat of all the wildlife and flora and fauna there.
There are endangered species that reside in the portion of land proposed to be signed over to the town.
The need for a town to grow is understanding and there needs to be space to be able to do that but don't take space from a provincial park. There must be other space available for Wasaga to grow and increase their revenue and tourism which is likely their bottom line and there is not the concern for the environment of the area from them that there needs to be.
