Ontario parks has a proven record of superb management, youth summer jobs, patrolling, garbage, sand cleaning etc. The town is not capable nor equipped . For sure the rare species who come there, several, will be gone, with hotel, condos , more parking . The area to develop is the Main st, not the beach. Beach 2 is the best walking and swimming beach, and hotels, condos will end that .Winter storms are brutal and year round tourism won't happen with Blue Mountain ski hills next door. This town is exploding with new subdivisions and. massive homes.....and we have 1 Main Street .We have minimal medical services.
THE town council is allowing a Costco to be built beside a residential area with schools and churches and is lacking in judgment. They have one concern only-money. I was at Costco in Barrie last week and I was disgusted at the air quality in the parking area. Our children's lungs are going to suffer.
THE Nancy Island Museum definitely needs a lot of help and it is an important artifact of history.
