I wish to voice my strongest…

I wish to voice my strongest support for the MZO that the City of Hamilton has requested to enable the development of housing in Jamesville. Given the depth of the housing crisis in Hamilton, it is absurd that this land cannot be freed up for the building of much needed new housing. Plans for the site are already prepared and could add significantly to the City’s stock of affordable and market housing. That the land has stood derelict for so long, stalled by CN rail’s appeal, is shameful.

I write this as a resident of Hamilton and a former social worker - in both capacities, frustrated that so obvious a way of relieving the struggles of the increasing numbers of unhoused fellow citizens has been blocked for so long.

I look forward to a resolution.
