We pay an extensive amount of taxes to both provincial and federal government. A sale of a high profile, and high utilization such as Wasaga Beach, should result in a reduction of on going taxes collected.
The sale should not be a one time, but ongoing royalties be paid out to the government, and subsequently the tax payer.
If, I as a Tax payer, loses access to public parks, which in Canada is one of the main reasons anyone puts up with a high tax rate, there should be a major cut back to taxes collected. In the 2% range of total taxes collected.
Otherwise, the cons on the loss of the beach far outweighs the gains.
