I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed sale and development of public land within Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.
Although I do not live in the immediate area, I have close friends who regularly visit the park for recreation and sporting events—activities that already contribute meaningfully to local tourism and economic activity. As someone who lives in a small urban flat, I rely on public outdoor spaces like provincial parks as essential places to recharge, connect with nature, and maintain my well-being. These natural spaces are irreplaceable.
Provincial parks exist to protect ecosystems, support biodiversity, and offer accessible green space to all Ontarians. Selling or developing this land for private interests directly undermines those principles and sets a concerning precedent.
I respectfully urge the Ontario government to preserve Wasaga Beach Provincial Park in its natural state—public, protected, and undeveloped—for the benefit of current and future generations.
