Public parkland isn't for sale.
Wasaga Beach is known to be the best nesting grounds for the Piping Plover, an endangered species of bird. Selling off land and allowing development in this area could endanger this species of bird, such as destroying its nesting grounds and habitats.
Developers must not be allowed to pay to pave over protected ecosystems.
Ontario needs stronger protections for the environment – not weaker ones. During a climate crisis that experts say we are nearing the point of no return, this is the last thing we need.
