To think that a private corporation will protect the fragile habitats of endangered species is completely absurd. The work that has been done to protect the Piping Plovers over the last 15 years would not have been possible if it were not a Provincial Park.
Since the fire, Wasaga Beach has been promised to be revitalized by numerous private deals and none have ever come to fruition. At the main end you can still see the skeletons of past deals.
Selling off our parks to the highest bidders is not the right move for the environment and the citizens of Wasaga Beach. If we lose our parks, we will never get them back.
