While I understand the need for economic development, our Provincial Parks should never be for sale! Especially those that house ecologically important and sensitive ecosystems. Changes to Wasaga's sandy beaches and dunes is practically a death sentence for the Piping Plover. Sand dunes are crucial components for beach integrity, and take decades to recover.
I'm beyond angered and disappointed in Ontario's consistent disregard for environmental integrity and species protection. I don't know why my provincial government continues to make decisions that directly harm the very ecosystems and biodiversity that comprise the foundation of our society. Development that undermines our natural landscapes, plants, and animals is not what we want. This amendment would set a dangerous precedent, every single person I have spoken to wants our Parks to remain protected.
In the wake of passing the horrible Bill 5, and numerous other policies which prioritize private profit and inefficient development over the needs of Ontarians and our environment, I ask that these amendments are not passed.
