I am opposed to these proposals. Ontario Parks has worked hard to create tourism in the wasabi beach area as well as fulfilling its duty to environmental protection. Dedicated staff over the years has poured their energy into their work and it should not be discarded but built upon.
I would counter propose that Ontario Parks form a partnership with the town of wasaga beach for nancy island and potentially some of the beach areas mentioned to try and achieve tourism goals without putting sensitive habitat at risk.
Don’t remove wasaga beach from under the Ontario parks umbrella.
