In continuation with other recently passed legislation this proposal to allow the removal of land from wasaga beach provincial park and allow the sale of beach areas to “increase tourism” is disappointing. These are critical habitat areas for plovers, other shore birds and wildlife in general. To allow the changes proposed in this piece of legislation is disgusting and continues to show that the provincial government has no regard for the environment, Ontario’s wildlife, and the people of Ontario who all agree that our wild and protected areas ARE NOT FOR SALE!
I encourage you to NOT pass this piece of legislation through and instead focus on protecting these wild and beautiful parks throughout Ontario that already bring lots of tourism on their own.
