To whom it may concern,
With regards to the proposal regarding Wasaga Beach, I am in complete disagreement with it. These are lands which are part of a provincial park belonging to the public and should NOT to be transferred to or sold to municipalities and developers. This is an environmentally sensitive area consisting of sand dunes which naturally protect the shoreline from erosion and should not be tampered with. More importantly it is a nesting area for the Endangered Piping Plover ( listed on Federal Species at Risk Act and Provincial Endangered Species Act) which has produced half of the province's Piping Plover fledglings since 2007. This area must stay within the provincial park boundaries to PROTECT and help with the survival of the species. There must be legal protection for this sensitive Piping Plover habitat with management and protection from the Ontario Government WITHOUT proposed changes to to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act 2006, and Historical Parks Act.
As an elected government, it is your responsibility to keep and protect these sensitive areas and parks for the people of the province to whom the Provincial Parks belong!
