As a provincial park user and supporter, I oppose any plan to amend the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act , 2006, (PPCRA) or changes to the Historical Parks Act (HPA) to “drive economic growth” in Wasaga Beach. Continuing to “support” the area’s natural and cultural heritage clearly does not mean PROTECT. Very concerning as these types of changes can be the start of a slippery slope. With the current challenges regarding global warming, conservation rather than exploitation should be the focus when it comes to Provincial Parks which belong to all residents of the province.
