Dear Government of Ontario:
Please do not transfer ownership of any Wasaga Beach provincial parkland to the municipality. Now more than ever before, the crucial role of Ontario Parks to protect habitat supporting biodiversity and species at risk must be maintained, or better yet, expanded upon. Transferring the highly sensitive beachland to municipal control puts it, and the wildlife it supports, in critical danger since it puts it within easy reach of any poorly informed or badly influenced municipal councils, whether now or far into the future.
Wasaga's provincial parks belong to the people and wildlife of Ontario and should remain so. I would consider it a travesty if the Province proceeded with the transfer of ownership of Beacch 1, Beach 2, New Wasaga Beach and Allanwood Beach to the Town of Wasaga Beach, and would eliminate my future support for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.
