I don’t believe selling areas of a provincial park is in the best interest of Ontarians. My parents live in wasaga beach so I visit the area often, there are many more land opportunities that could be acquired and used to increase tourism. Taking environmentally sensitive areas like those of the breeding ground of native plovers is not the answer. It’s the easy way out, the way that shows ontarians and citizens of wasaga beach that profit is a higher priority than the environment. If you want to preserve culture protect the environment. The original culture of any area is that of the First Nations peoples who lived there before Canadians. Their cultures are often based of the lands around them and being a Stewart of the land. Therefore this proposal directly goes against what it claims to want to achieve. Ontario is not for sale.
