I think this is a big mistake. The attitude of this Provincial Government displays towards the Environment, Conservation, and First Nations is infuriating. If this bill passes without specific conditions or commitments to protect Piping Plovers and their habitats through the development, implementation, and resourcing of a science-based Beach Management Plan that prioritizes plover conservation, much of the work that has gone into protecting this species in Ontario will have been for naught. We don't need another overpopulated, disgusting human beach and more gaudy vacation homes - especially since this is THE most productive nesting site for Piping Plovers in Ontario.
