Each time we take from nature, we get diminishing returns.
You say this is to boost tourism, but who will want to come and see a dying landscape?
You say development, economic growth, and housing are the priorities right now. But why are you destroying homes to build houses? What are we developing towards if we are sacrificing biodiversity in this planet by a thousand cuts?
We keep doing this thing, where growth needs to be pursued at any expense, past any limit. But our world, our nature, is limited. Unlimited growth in a limited system is what in biology we call cancer.

This time, this move will push away pipping plovers out of Ontario. Next time it'll be nuthatches, or chickadees, and then beavers or deer, and before we know it we'll be alone. Please stop doing this.
