In a time of biodiversity loss and catastrophic disasters exacerbated by climate change, we should be working to create more protected areas not remove them for the financial gain of a few. I request for the Ford government to immediately stop the sale of the majority of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park’s beachfront lands, not amend the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, and recognize its responsibility to hold provincial parklands in trust for future generations. This is critical habitat for so many Species-At-Risk and we should not be taking steps backwards in their protection.
