1) I do NOT support MECP's proposed legislative amendments to the PPCRA to remove portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park including the removal of all of Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach.
2) I do NOT support Provincial Park lands going to ANY local municipality for the furtherance of that local/said municipality's uses/purposes. Provincial Park lands are entrusted to the provincial government, for the benefit of ALL Ontario's citizens. This would set a horrific precedent for the entire Province.
3) I understand that Ontario is well short of meeting its climate action targets/goals. Therefore we cannot afford to relinquish any of the climate action resources (carbon sinks, temperature moderation, etc.) contained within our Provincial Parks.
2) I do NOT support the government's proposal to sell the Crown-owned lands within Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach to the Town of Wasaga Beach.
I recognize that the Land in the Allenwood Beach area that was subject to the recent Court order vesting it in the ownership of the Town of Wasaga Beach, will remain under the ownership of the Town.
