I do not have much of an opinion on Nancy's Island, however, I believe the changes proposed for beach area 2, 1, wasaga beach and allenwood beach are incredibly hasty and irresponsible. Wasaga Provincial Park and its conservation efforts for the endangered piping plovers has been incredible and losing such a large chunk of land that is specifically protected for a reason would be an incredible setback to the conservation of the piping plover. It sets a dangerous precedent for what other regulations can be stripped back for the sake of economic development. I understand economic development, especially tourism, is important, however, removing important protections from large swathes of natural land is not the way to go about this. The plovers bring tourism. Protected land brings tourism. Not removing the protections and authority the provincial park has over this land.
