The city recently rejected a proposal for the former Glen Echo School property citing that the development was too jarring for a neighbourhood that consisted of mainly single family homes and not in neighbourhood streets. The same should be found in the case of Jamesville.
This development increases of both the CHH and Indwell building would also represent a sudden, large leap in terms of intensification, the proposed development does not enhance the existing neighbourhood and is not the appropriate scale or location for a development of this size.
The character of the neighborhood must be protected as it lays precedent for future development and sets the standard for future growth that is respectful and appropriate for the community.
