Access to outdoor climbing is important to me and climbing in Ontario Parks is a privilege that the Ontario climbing community would like formalized.
Rock climbing can be a low impact means of recreation, one that even drives tourism given the quality and proper marketing of climbing access. In some cities, it has significant impacts on local economy (See Joe's Valley Utah)
Other jurisdictions, in Western Canada, as well as Conservation Halton, here in Ontario, productively work together with local climbing communities to facilitate safe access to rock and ice climbing.
I particularly support the proposal in the management plan for a new parking lot at Devil's Glen, which will improve the current parking situation which is a bandaid solution for a government service.
