I am an upland & migratory game bird hunter & I believe that no self respecting hunter would bother to "hunt" double-crested cormorants. I further believe that if individuals attempt to kill & dispose of up to fifty cormorants per day that it would generate great animosity from the non-hunting public. I understand that much of the concern about over abundant cormorants is coming from boaters & anglers, not hunters. At any rate, if culling cormorants is absolutely required due to local habitat damage then Provincial employees should be tasked to culling specific colonies as I don't think most Ontario licenced hunters will engage in this activity.
