Many elements of Bill 60 are disastrous and represent more overreach by the provincial government.

It diminishes local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents.
It will exacerbate traffic congestion, not alleviate it. Government experts have consistently stated that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. This has been further demonstrated by studies from all over the world. This is well known, yet the government ignores using data driven evidence to form policy.
It will increase road safety risks. Protected bike lanes prevent serious injuries and fatalities for cyclists, pedestrians and motorists. We've seen the Human Rights challenge be successful thus far-a clear message that what Bill 60 will do is cause harm.
It threatens other road space uses that communities rely on, including transit priority, safe crossings, patios, curbside access and school streets.
It undermines climate goals and public health by perpetuating car-dependent street designs.
