The proposed amendments to the this Act are irresponsible and will be harmful to the number of species that will not be protected that should have a higher classification than special concern. Ontario is known for its rich biodiversity. This legislation will negatively impact that biodiversity. Removing safeguards for these species of species concern will have a negligible impact on building more housing in the province. They play a key role in our province and removing protections will put our environment out of balance. This will in turn impact the well being of all Ontarians. I vehemently oppose this amendment.
