No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
I'm not sure how to be more clear? Your government seems to do the standard engagement process and then disregards all feedback provided by residents.
This is a terrible idea. I don't want to live in a world where driving is the only practical way to get anywhere. Kids can't drive. Many folks with disabilities don't drive. Seniors stop driving. Many people can't afford to drive. The entire world doesn't revolve around rich people in cars.
If you pass this legislation, it's going to be way way harder for municipalities to deliver on approved plans, in a fiscally responsible way. Property taxes will go up. Doing full construction projects within boulevards takes so much time and money, it's way cheaper to rely on ACTUAL TRANSPORTATION DATA and repurpose over-built roadways to be supportive of all modes of transportation. It's so incredibly disrespectful and problematic for your government to assume that if people can't drive, they're not worthwhile citizens who deserve to travel safely within their communities.
What a disaster. I can't believe the rate and scale at which your government is ruining Ontario. This is really just the icing on a disgusting cake no one wanted to exist.
No. Nononononononononono. Do not support. I do not support this proposal. Municipalities do not support this proposal. Residents/kids/seniors/even a lot of drivers won't support this proposal! It's just going to force cyclists to be all over the place on and off the sidewalks, in their way in the vehicle lanes etc. Just let municipalities plan for REGIONAL transportation under their jurisdiction! Get your sticky little fingers out of it!
Why don't you guys focus on actually getting some of your pending MTO projects moving? Why are you wasting so much time fussing around in local transportation?? Your attempts with Bill 212 failed and now you're pushing it even further - just stay out of it!!!!
So livid that you can't stay in your lane, and focus on health care, education, regional transportation etc. Douggie is wasting an obscene amount of taxpayer money on attack ads and 401 underpass studies, I'm so over your party and their poorly veiled American ways.
