What on EARTH is this possible order?
I am a registered voter in this city. I know very well how desperate the demand is for new housing and here the Minister is considering an exception for a manufacturer (Sanofi) who has failed to engage in even the most basic aspects of the normal planning process and is offering only the most vague reasons for this exception, in defiance of all existing evidence (the facility has coexisted with housing and public spaces for literal DECADES). On top of this, this order potentially threatens a second planned apartment building nearby as well.
I can't believe that here I am commenting to support a developer, but here we are. Let Tenblock (and First Capital) build if they have properly followed the province and city's planning processes in good faith. Steeles West is as good a location for a huge new residential building as any and that part of the city is ripe for densification. Please withdraw this order in favour of having Sanofi actually engage with the developers via the normal planning process.
