Merging 36 conservation authorities into 7 will not provide the level of attention, oversight, and staffing required to be responsive to the needs of the very different parts of our province. The North will be neglected and extracted. This will prove as successful as the ill-planned merger of health units that was luckily overturned just before the pandemic. Ontario is not just the GTA. Stop treating it as such.
