I would definitely support the consolidation of 36 conservation authorities throughout Southern Ontario.
But, I absolutely do not support the consolidation of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority with an agency more that 1000 kilometers away. There is no reasonable explanation as to how that make sense.
The unique area, geography, and overall landscape of Lake Superior's north shore does not compare to southern Ontario. There is no way a southern agency is capable of making decisions effecting the northern communities.
If anything a consolidation of the northern most agencies makes more regional sense than what is currently proposed.
I think the LCRA and the northern region shouldn't be consolidated with any others at all, and remain as it's own organization.
Focus your consolidation of duplicate services and bloated bureaucracy in Southern Ontario.
