To whom it may concern,

reducing bike lanes makes roads more dangerous for cyclists and other vulnerable road users, and evidence suggests it could worsen, not improve, traffic flow.

Cyclist safety: Removing dedicated bike lanes increases the risk of accidents and violates cyclists' constitutional right to life and security.

Traffic congestion: Removing bike lanes does not guarantee reduced congestion and may even worsen it by discouraging cycling and potentially leading to more cars on the road.

Constitutional rights: A ruling by the Ontario Superior Court in July 2025 found the province's plan unconstitutional, stating it would endanger lives and not alleviate traffic. The court noted that there was insufficient evidence to support the claim that removing the lanes would reduce congestion.

Thank you.
