Consolidating the current number of Conservation areas into much fewer numbers will not address the concerns put forth in the proposed legislation. Like so many other government cuts to public service, fewer means less oversight, not more. We already have too few Conservation Officers, which translated into more poaching, masses of people fishing in non-fishing areas (such as the Humber Rover in Étienne Brûle Park).
In addition we have people shooting of firearms, some of those restricted. Less Officers in the areas menacing more illegal and dangerous activities form this who couldn't care less about abiding by the law and regulations or the safety of others who may be in the area.
What this government requires is a person who actually knows what is going on and what is required to ensure public safety and wildlife preservation.
