I strongly oppose the proposal to merge Ontario’s conservation authorities. Each of the 36 conservation authorities plays a vital role in protecting its unique watershed and supporting local communities through education and outreach. Consolidation for the sake of “streamlining” approvals undermines environmental integrity and community safety. Development permits must be reviewed thoroughly and tailored to local needs, not rushed. Please allow these authorities to continue operating independently, guided by science and the best interests of their regions.
