I am strongly opposed to the amalgamation of Ontario's conservation authorities. This is the kind of proposal that looks like it could streamline things and increase efficiency on paper, but in reality will do the exact opposite.
Additionally, the way the announcement was made without advance warning to any CA staff seems pretty disrespectful and suggests the upcoming "consultations" are merely performative.
Lastly, why was a provincial agency created to oversee CAs when this is something that has been handled internally by MNR or MECP for years? Who was clamouring for more bureaucracy and middle management?
