Being a person who was brought up in India, it is in floods and water shortages that watershed mismanagement usually bring about that i can truly appreciate the step that Ontario is taking in increasing its conservation authorities to larger watershed based conservation authority. The fragmentation that I have observed in the home country can be avoided through regional coordination. I am simply worried that local knowledge would not be lost- small communities are often the ones who know their land the most. I hope that the new regional model would not lose that local affiliation.
