Regarding, ERO-013-4293 Bill 66, Restoring Ontario's Competitiveness Act 2018
We need to stop or at least amend Bill 66 in its current form. Transparency is a fundamental right of democracy and this Bill, if passed would remove that.
This Bill would allow the municipal affairs minister, at the request of municipalities, to exempt commercial developments from many environmental laws. That includes the Clean Water Act, the Great Lakes Protection Act and the Greenbelt Act.
Profits for corporations should not come before the rights of the taxpayers, their health, or the environment.
