Whereas our organization favors the proliferation of multi-modal transit in order to facilitate road redesigns to accommodate traffic-calming features; to make our communities safer and more accessible for children, seniors and mobility aid users; to reduce stormwater runoff and flooding arising from excessive hard landscaping; and to justify generating the residential densities and streetscapes needed to fight the climate, housing and cost of living crises: we are generally opposed to the restriction of municipal road design powers through Schedule 5 of Bill 60 and urge the passage's deletion in its entirety.
