This action to merge conservation authorities is not forward thinking for Ontario’s environmental future or longevity. Losing contextual knowledge of conservation authorities area’s by merging them into seven regional authorities is baseless and aligned only with the provincial government in the sense of silencing the voices that speak for the environment. I am heavily against this motion as it won’t help align the conservation authorities with the provincial government, it will only weaken the conservation auhtorities presence and autonomy to assist in unbiased environmental decisions for the province. This is against the will of Ontarians! Keep the authorities!
