This proposal under Bill 68 is deeply concerning because we will lose decades of local conservation knowledge, especially for rural regions that are much larger and have more diversity and therefore more specific local knowledge. This could have devasting impacts with climate change already creating more risk of flooding and water pollution. Once again, Doug Ford is putting profit above the people and land of Ontario by potentially destroying eighty years of environmental conservation. Please read the attached statements from several local conservation authorities and other concerned community groups over this proposal. I urge decision-makers to vote against Bill 68 and the amendments to the Conservation Authorities Act.
