Again, this just seems like a u turn in environmental protection. Our existing conservation authorities provide countless benefits. These authorities provide local jobs and a space for experts who know the land, and can be there on the ground to maintain the species at risk, and understand the flow of the ecosystems thus curbing development in places where it doesn't make sense to develop. This just seems like another bill to remove challenges to development at the expense of our environment. ITS NOT WORTH IT.
Housing already exists. There are developments that are commercial - such as strip malls, that could have apartment housing built on top. There's already condos that exist and sit empty (because of the ludicrous cost).
Don't sacrifice our conservation agencies. It will cost us way more in the end of we do.
