I am vehemently opposed to the amalgamation of conservation authorities. Under the existing organization local authorities can focus on the needs of the land and its natural flora and fauna. Any modernization or streamlining should be tried and can be done within the current jurisdictional parameters. I know this is the best way to protect our beloved natural areas from greedy developers who put a lot of pressure on political parties in power and their members with their financial support in return for the promise of allowing land set aside for conservation to be developed at the cost of our beloved natural areas. For my Ontario I’d like to keep it beautiful. It is ours to discover not to pave over!
