This idea of amalgamating Conservation Authorities is a terrible idea. Google Hurricane Hazel and its devastating effects on Toronto that killed residents due to poor flood plain protections that allowed homes to be built in dangerous areas. With current and future flooding risks, you need independent local jurisdiction, not gigantic amalgamations that are going to drop the hammer on important decisions from miles and miles away. Local knowledge is key. Don’t make this change.
