Hi! I would just like to let you know that by consolidating of Ontario's Conservation Authority's (CA) you would be doing a HUGE disservice to everyone who lives in Ontario. The whole point of CAs is that they protect LOCAL watersheds! They work closely with communities to protect the health of the watersheds and protect the communities from flooding events! As climate change gets worse and the affects become stronger and more often it will be crucial to have agencies in place to protect both the environment and people. Consolidating the 36 CAs into only 7 it will only increase the margins of error. It will not make things faster. Having a 'head' will not make things smoother or faster. It is a shame and incredibly sad to see this government so actively and blatantly dismantle environmental regulations put in place for wildlife benefits which are the foundation of everything. I am very disappointed that this is even a topic of conversation and deeply hope this bill does not pass!
