Conservation authorities are a unique and critical feature of Ontario’s conservation. With very limited public lands in Southwestern Ontario, the elimination of conservation authorities could be detrimental to endangered species that call their properties home, along with eliminating hundreds of already limited jobs in the natural resources field. As someone who is very well travelled across the US and Canada, Southern Ontario is quite possibly one of the most developed and worst conserved regions I’ve seen. The Ontario government has done nothing but fail our ecosystems, with the exception of conservation authorities.
