Consolidating Ontario's conservation authorities is an absolutely obtuse and short-sighted decision. Its extremely important to have local offices with enough regional expertise to ensure our drinking water and farmlands remain protected and safe.
Spending a year saying "Canada First" and "Ontario First" then taking authority and protection away from the land we require is putting Ontario farmers and population LAST.
Combining the conservation authorities also will not streamline anything, and instead will result in less expertise necessary for decision making.
How am I supposed to feel confident about my local drinking water and the growth in my local areas if someone from hours away is making the decision and submitting any reports.
This would be very disappointing and feel like a quick cash grab to cut services with NOTHING in return and put me and my children at risk.
