The plan to merge the existing Conservation Authorities into 7 large areas is a bad and short-sighted plan. The proposal will remove the oversights for clean water and will severely hamper the stated mandate to protect people and properties.
Will it take another “Walkerton” for government to wake up and recognize that catch-up measures after a catastrophic event is neither what the people of the province want nor deserve from the Provincial leadership.
